God superimposed his Feast of Pentecost on a farming holidays.

There is beauty in the way God blends the natural and the supernatural for Pentecost. Mediterranean countries sow their Winter wheat on the last full moon in Autumn. They eat the first grains the night of the first full moon in Spring.
They worked then to gather the whole of the harvest in by fifty hard days of field work. Their name for that fiftieth day was Pentecost. It was the beginning of a rich new year. With the coming of the Holy Spirit it is the birthday of our Church,
