What did Jesus mean by saying, "The kingdom of God is among you?"

We might be led to the right answer by recalling what Jesus said to St. Paul in Chapter Twenty of the Acts of the Apostles.

In wondering what Jesus meant by saying, "The Kingdom of God is among you" we might consider the situation in Chapter Nineteen of The Acts of the Apostles.  I

In that chapter Paul spent a year and a half in Corinth, and he was uneasy about it,  because Corinth was the most wicked city in the ancient world. With ports on both its Aegean and Adriatic sides, it had a thousand temple prostitutes serving the sailors passing through.      

Jesus appeared to Paul one night, and he told him, "I have many people in this city."

So, for us, when Jesus says the kingdom is in your midst, he might mean that he has thousands of faithful Christians in Jacksonville, and we should appreciate their presence as we move among them.
