What are we to make of what
Jesus said to Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum? . How does it apply to us
when Jesus said, "If the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in
Tyre and Sidon, they would have long ago repented."
The meaning for us might be
that if the miserable societies around this world had received our rich
upbringing they would have made more of their lives than we make of ours.
We have benefitted from so
many good things. For one, we grew up in families that ate together with all of
us looking ot for each other. It was so much better than the lives of street
urchins.
We had parents and teachers
who taught us the value of disciplined lives that gave us the ability to carry
out the good plans we lay for ourselves.
We have the benefits of
living in such a well ordered country that we are the envy of the rest of the
world
If we do not make the best of
our advantages, if we don't try repaying God for all he has given us we are
useless ungrateful people.

Well said Father. We should be ashamed.
