In his letters, Paul twice mentioned Luke. In his final days of life Paul wrote to Timothy, saying that only Luke remained with him. In sending his regards to the people of Collosae, Paul also sent greetings from Luke, "Our beloved physician."
Speaking of Luke as a physician has brought Christians to name their hospitals after him. But, in speaking of Luke as "Our beloved physician," it might be more apt to think of him as "beloved."
We love Luke for giving us the story of the Angel Gabriel and Mary, the parable of the Prodigal Son, and the stories of all the fine women who played major roles in Or Lord's life (and in our lives too.)
