The Bible sees Wisdom in two ways. Let’s look at the first
way when the Bible contrasts Wisdom with Folly,
picturing them as twin sisters. There, Folly always seeks immediate gratification
without regard how thing will turn our
in the end.
The wise Sister embraces the hard work and the
disappointments that only eventually lead to satisfaction, while Folly ends up a sad
Sister after she has grabbed all the gusto she can.
The Bible’s nobler form of Wisdom is the Truth that comes
from above. Such Wisdom is not easy to come by. But wisdom always comes
from prayerfully surrendering yourself to whatever truth emerges from your
earnest searching.
