Seeds are mysteries, part of a great order.

Jesus referred to the manner by which a seed sprouts as a mystery.

And so it is, but scientific advances reveal more. It is no longer a complete mystery.  By following the process, we are learning more about the God who marvelously devised it.

A seed planted, where there is both water and warmth, puts down roots.

This launches a search of the nutrients that it needs to sprout leaves above ground, an operation known as photosynthesis.

Soon a process makes a chemical exchange of sunlight energy into nutrition energy.

If we delve deep enough into the process, we will come to the atomic make-up of water, H2O.

People are weary of having me quote Dante’s Paradiso on this subject. One more time: When Dante arrived in heaven, he puzzled over how everything in heaven was new to him, but at the same time familiar.

Beatrice, his heavenly muse explained: “ALL things among themselves possess an order, and this order is the form that makes the universe like God.”
