John saw a new Jerusalem coming down from above.

In his final vision of the end of the world

John had this view of a new Jerusalem.

“I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem,

coming down out of heaven from God,”

That gives us an excuse for breaking into song.

Together we’ll sing the last verse of “The Holy City”

“And once again the scene was changed,

New earth there seemed to be,

I saw the Holy City rise

Beside that tide-less sea.

The light of God was in its streets,

The gates were open wide;

And all who would might enter,

And no one was denied.

And all who would might enter,

And no one was denied.

It was the new Jerusalem

That will mot pass away.

Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

Lift up those gates and sing,

Hosanna in the highest,

Hosanna to your king!
