It is the Spirit of God in us at renders us peace.

In the Gospel Jesus accused the Pharisees, saying, “You pay love for God.”

If, in contrast, we can identify with those led by the Spirit, so that we practice a degree of “patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control.”

If we are behaving like good men and women, if we practice kindness and gentleness, we should rejoice in the glad hearts it gives us; however, we should take no credit for this happy state of affairs.

AS Paul put it “It is God working in us, both to will and accomplish.”
