We shoiuld let our days be governed by the Beatitudes.

Wednesday, 6/8/16

On Monday we passed too quickly over the Beatitudes. They deserve our daily self-reminders of what each obliges us to do. Let’s take them one at a time.

BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT. I should not aspire to be seen as one of the great ones.
BLESSED ARE THEY WHO MOURN. I should ease another’s sorrows by sharing them.
BLESSED ARE THE MEEK, I should let the other person hold the TV remote.
BLESSED ARE THEY WHO HUNGER FOR JUSTICE.  I should take part in most good causes.
BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL. I should forgive, even those who do not deserve forgiveness.
BLESSED ARE THE CLEAN OF HEART. I shouldn’t overload my heart with sexuality or wealth.
BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, I should want to be one of those special children of God.

BLESSED ARE YOU WHEN YOU PUT UP WITH BEING LOOKED DOWN ON. Am I God? No!
