We each must Iive in a marriage-like covenant with Christ.

Married people are joined to each other by the covenant of marriage by which

they become one. To effect their union they promise to be true to each other in good times and in bad, in sickness and health till death parts them.

We Christians are joined to Christ in a covenant by which we strive to be holy since he is holy. To preserve our union with Christ we must avoid all activities tht are “in compliance with the desires of our former ignorance.” We must be holy “in every aspect of our conduct.”
