Jesus will come walking toward us over the waters of death.

With this Gospel a feeling of cheerfulness comes over us, as we picture Jesus come walking toward us over those waters.

Those fishermen were at home on the lake, but the unexpected wind overcame them, and then Jesus came walking to them over the waters of death.

The Lord gives us this occurrence as an assurance that when the oars fall limp in our hands he will come walking toward us, lending us a hand to take us to the other shore.
