When Jesus
saw Nathaniel approaching he said, “Behold
a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him. Could Jesus sum you up in
similar words? “Here is a true Christian without guile. This is no phony.” It
is worthwhile for you to check your honesty. Could people always say about you:
“What you see is what you get”?
Jesus told
Nathaniel, “Before Phillip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” Now,
Phillip had thought he was alone under the fig tree, praying to the Messiah to
make his appearance. So, the only way Jesus could have seen him there would be
for Jesus to be the Messiah.
What that
incident tells you is that when you are alone, and you are trying to speak with
Jesus, speak away. He will be listening. He will not answered you in spooky
words from heaven, but he will move your mind and memory. The right way for you
to behave will pop into your mind. And, then you should say, “Thank you.” He will
gratefully hear your thanks.
