If you have been generous in forgiving and givng then hold out your apron so God can fill it to overflowing with good things.

The checkout person or the bagger at Publix or Winn Dixie usually asks, “Paper or plastic?” In St. Luke’s version of Our Lord’s teaching people were given no such option. No, for shopping they had to put on aprons, or wear good long skirts.
Jesus said the amount of forgiveness you can expect from God is in direct proportion to the amount of forgiveness you proffered to others. Likewise the gifts you can expect from God will be in direct proportion to the to number of gifts you provided to those in need.
The Bible has a saying, “God loves a generous giver.” If you have given freely to others you can hold out your skirt for God to pour his favors in it; and when he has poured them in he will pack them together; then, give them a good shaking so he can pour in even more.
